Choosing a juicer can be tricky since there are so many to choose from and how do you know which one will suit you best? Here are a couple tips that may hep to make it a bit easier for you:
1. Champion or Breville: If you are going to be making mostly juices from fruits such as apples and cucumbers and root vegetables such as carrots and beets then you will be happy with a fast and easy juicer such as the Breville or the Champion. The Champion is Elaina's favorite for making soft serve banana ice cream for special occasions and for making root veggie pulp for recipes such as Better Than Beef and Samosas which can be found in Elana's Pure Joy Kitchen Book 2.
2.Green Star: If you are a green juice lover like Elaina, then you will be happier with a high end juicer such as The Green Star. The reason for this is that the Green Star has magnetic far infra red technology which helps to preserve the best quality of juice at the highest frequency. Yes, the juicer costs quite a bit more, but your juices will be more potent, taste better and last longer in your refrigerator while retaining most of their integrity and freshness (up to 3 days). You won't need to drink as much juice because you will get more nutrients out of this juice!
3.Nut Milk Bag: If you just want to get quick and done, then Elaina uses her Amazing Nut Milk Bag while traveling and on most days to just get a quick and tasty green juice made. Here's how that works. Chop up cucumber, celery and kale and put it in your blender (fill it to the top) Then add about 1/2-1 cup of filtered water and blend the mixture until all the veggies are blended, You will most likely need to use a tamper if you are using a Vitamix (don't over blend though as it will destroy the life force!) Then just strain it through the Amazing Nut Milk Bag and drink the juice. Save the pulp for making flax crackers later or put it in your compost. Either way, you've got juice in minutes and the clean up is super easy. Not the highest quality of juice out there, but for people who are not going to juice if it isn't super quick and easy, this is the way to go!
