This plant-based low-carb retreat is a blend of meditation, yoga, hiking, food preparation, sharing meals and stories, and the opportunity to connect with a tribe of like-minded souls from all over the world.

Mt. Shasta is defined by pristine beauty and magic that is hard to describe without having the physical experience of it. To say that it magnifies intuition,  synchronistic, and healing experiences would be the closest we can come to explaining why we love to go there so often. 

Our sacred and safe space is a judgment-free zone where we can all reflect, shed baggage, laugh, cry, and step into the vast and mystical elements of nature. We will have open discussion groups daily so you know exactly why and how to implement the teachings at home. We will talk about your thoughts and how they affect your daily decisions and experiences,  hormone balancing and what you may be missing, blood sugar testing, and what you need to do to step up your health and wellness practices.

Learn how to make the food served on retreat with instructional cooking lessons and hands-on preparation as we make meals together.  See how meals are made and the lifestyle works through observing everything happening in the open kitchen which is in the middle of the social area.

We feel nature is just as important as the food you eat. It’s so vital to nourish your lungs with as much fresh air and sunshine as possible. We will go out daily for an experience somewhere on or near the mountain.



Rest and Relaxation Time


We've scheduled down-time so you can the rest and rejuvenation you need to leave with a full cup. We also don't feel any activity is mandatory. Take the rest when you need. Listen to your body.

Ongoing Support and Networking in our Private Facebook Support Community

We pride ourselves on our support system pre and post-retreat. We want you to succeed in your health goals long after your coursework is done! Plus, you will receive bonus recipes by staying active in the group. Sometimes we post a surprise recipe video even after the retreat is over.


  • The home is filled with high-vibration crystals as it is curated as a healing space. There are 7 acres of land to explore in your free time, surrounded by amazing trees and some deer if you’re lucky! Outside, there are 2 outdoor showers and 2 composting bathrooms for use. There is also meditation areas, hammocks and sacred spaces for contemplation and lounging. We also have access to the veggie garden with homegrown organic herbs and veggies! We have varying accommodation options:

  • MAIN HOUSE: spacious shared rooms, with king, queen or twin beds with shared bathrooms. Bunk with a friend or new friend!

  • CABINS: Cozy spruce cabins set in the forest.  Set up with all the comfort of home. Indoor and outdoor shared bathrooms. Please note, the cabins are 2-minute walk on a beautiful forest path, uphill from the main house. (we have 1 available as private)
  • YURT GLAMPING: Luxury canvas yurt camping is also available. These fully fitted tents have 2 queen beds, outlets, table and chairs for reading, and lamps. (we have 1 available as private)

  •  You may find your own offsite hotel or B&B options and receive a discounted retreat price. You would just drive to the retreat center every morning if you choose that option. We are only about 10 minutes from the town of Shasta and there are plenty of options if you'd rather stay offsite. We have a limited number of offsite spots available. This is a timely opportunity for us all to release any trauma (conscious or not) that has built up in these strange unforeseen times on planet earth.

It is an opportunity to restore our inner self to homeostasis with a group of like-minded women who are ready to support and meet you in whatever place you find yourself. 

This retreat is all about learning how to upgrade our health through food and energy practices.  It is about learning to protect ourselves from our own thoughts about outside harm (physical or mental). You will leave with a feeling of empowerment, health & connection.

We believe that you can not pour from an empty cup, so our goal is to refill yours so that you can take the restored positive energy back into your regular life to be the light for the people around you.

Elaina Love

Elaina Love is a leading authority on nutrition and health. She's an author of 3 plant-based recipe books, a speaker, and an internationally renowned chef with over 20 years of experience. Elaina Love is the founder and director of Pure Joy Culinary Academy, a cutting-edge plant-based culinary arts and nutrition school. The Academy is designed to teach students how to prepare the best meals on the planet while healing and nourishing their bodies.

Over the last 20 years, Elaina’s low glycemic, grain-free, full-flavored holistic recipes, and gourmet dishes have shaped the vegan food industry. She has coached and inspired hundreds of aspiring chefs and individuals who want to change their life, both in person and through her online programs.

Through whole, and mostly plant-based foods, cleansing, and fasting, Elaina has healed herself from a serious case of systemic candida, chronic fatigue, hormone imbalances during menopause and cleared up her severe skin problems. She is the creator and producer of the first-ever nut milk bag, The Amazing Nut Milk Bag, and continues to create new recipes and content for online courses and retreats.

Katelyn Louise - Canada

Retreat Leader - Kate specializes in helping women under 40 with hormone imbalances and/or autoimmune issues (specifically Crohn's, IBS, and Thyroid Imbalances). She is a wellness coach and herbalist and knows what specific roots, barks, and herbs can get your body into balance. She will also help you find your balance through food, lifestyle practices, supplements, and superfoods.

She is passionate about detox since she was able to renew her health through cleansing and nourishing her own body.

Kate has taught and facilitated plant-based chef trainings, detox retreats, classes, and workshops around the world for years. She is a private chef and works with clients one-on-one to help them transition to healthier gluten and grain-free diet with delicious alternatives. She'll show you the top superfoods and which ones you should start with, how to make healing Medicinal Elixirs using herbal medicine and tonic teas, everything you need to know about medicinal mushrooms, adaptogens, and why you need them to heal your gut and boost ur immunity.

Monique Bogni 

Monique is a Pure Joy Academy certified Raw Food Chef & Instructor, a certified Nutritionist & Health Coach whose superpower is helping people heal with healthy food that tastes good.

She is extremely passionate about teaching people how to eat healthy in her consulting practice and cooking classes, where she shares with her clients how to makeover or seek out healthier versions of their favorite foods. She makes it easy with a holistic, personalized approach to foods tailored to each client and teaches people how to listen to their intuition, uncovering what truly feeds their body, mind, and soul.

Monique is near and dear to the Pure Joy Family. She first got certified as a Pure Joy Raw Food Chef with us in Bali in 2015 and then worked her way up as an intern and then kitchen manager the following years, until she ran her own Pure Joy Academy Level 1 Chef Certification in NYC. She will be one of the chefs on this retreat! We can't wait to taste what magic she cooks up!

Liz Perras - Canada

Head Chef - Liz has been with the Pure Joy family since 2015 when she was certified as a Pure Joy Academy Level 1 Raw Food Chef. She's since attended and cheffed at our women's retreats and is a vital part of our retreat experience. She's also a cancer survivor and her healing journey began when my immune system was at its lowest. Health issues, medications, allergies, food intolerances can take a toll on your digestive system causing uncomfortable side effects, low energy, poor sleep, and general overall malaise. 

Her passion for good health progressed over the years and she's now a certified personal trainer, nutrition & transformation specialist through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA).  

She offers online personal training and nutrition, cooking demos & workshops, and provides catering services. All with the best health in mind.
